CHRISTMAS BREAK

I am pretty excited to go home and not do anything and not have to worry about anything. Finals is next week and I am ready to knock them out and go home and relax and enjoy my holidays with my family and friends. We have about 3 weeks to enjoy ourselves and not have any worries or dilemma's, well hopefully.I am going to have 2 Christmas' like I do every year. My first one is with my family back at home, we wait til everyone wakes up and then we open all of our presents that my parents got for my brother, sister, and me. I usually like to get my family presents but lately I have not had money to buy things for myself so I do not know how I will buy things for my family, but I guess I could make something for them. My second Christmas is with my family on my dad's side in Ohio, there is 20 people that all gather for our other family Christmas. I do not get to see my family that much so when I do it is a time I want to soak in and spend as much time with them as I can. It would be awesome if we ended up having a white Christmas.

Our Group Project is done!!!

We finished our group project last class and it feels awesome to complete it! I think we did pretty good on our project, we had everything that was asked of us and I think we did a good job of convincing them that our show and our organization would be good to show on Lifetime. Although our other group member showed up while we were presenting, I believe that we ended up pulling it out in the end and our methods of persuasion I believe were very good. It feels good to be done with it all and I want to thank my group members Breanna and Joel for helping me to do this project. I learned a lot about sex trafficking in Cambodia and sex trafficking in general. It is a real problem and is one that should be discussed and talked about because something needs to happen to change this, it is something that should not be taken lightly and education is the best way to affect this problem and to make it a better place for victims of this horrible thing everywhere.

These are the results of my quiz and I am more of a tactile learner. I like to learn by using myself and I use both aspects of visual and auditory, they are about the same. Most of the things I am in the middle of, I do not have a for sure way of learning. Depending on what it is I learn different ways, some things I need to just read and look over while there are other things that I need to just need to listen to and think about.

We changed our idea a little bit, we are going to come up with a presentation to send to Lifetime about sex trafficking to see if they will make a segment or show about our topic. P.A.S.T. is our name and we are going to try to present a presentation that has pictures, a commercial with a call to change, why they should choose our video, an interview, and any other idea that will help to persuade people to want to make a show about it. Our audience is adults from the age of 30-55 and we hope to raise awareness and tell people about this problem and if they can help out. We have most of the pictures and script done, we just need to put it all together, record our videos and put the finishing touches on the video. We are hoping all of the aspects of the video will last for most of the required time during our presentation.

For the next couple days what I am going to be doing is finding all the information possible on the subject of how women can get into the trade, how much money they make a customer, and how many percent of them are forced and are beaten and any other information about the subject. I also will begin to write a script and make ideas for the video that we want to make telling people about sex trafficking and Cambodia and why it is important to them and why they should pay attention to this subject, and how educating them is the best way to help out. That is what we will focus our video on. I was thinking about making a video like the one on NBC, called "The more you know," they use famous actors to portray the message they are endorsing and I think our subject would be a good one to do. We wrote our proposal and we are working on a time where we can all meet as a group again and figure some more of what our video will have in it and any other methods of presentation we will use.

BALL STATE SPORTS

The other day I went to a womens volleyball game and it was pretty exciting. They won in 3 straight games, they are supposed to be pretty good this year and the victory I saw did not disappoint. I also met my wife that I will marry on Ball State's team. Now I just need to figure out what her name is. The men's basketball team plays tonight against Valporaiso and this is their first game so hopefully they start out with a win. Hopefully they are good this year, but I have not really heard much about them. Also many people I have talked to are very disappointed in our record in football. They go from having an undefeated season to only winning 1 game, they have 2 games left so they hopefully will at least win those 2 games. If only they hadn't lost so many of their weapons then maybe they would be better, but I still stand by my school!

Group Project

Today we discussed our group topic which is sex trafficking in Cambodia and also other places. I looked at videos already made about the subject and found many videos with valuable information concerning why it happens and ways to prevent it. We discussed our video options and we are considering making a video from the sex traffickers perspective because it is different or we might just do an informative video message for a call to change. The video part is the one that we need to figure out and what other methods we are going to use on our project. Good beginning to the project, we just need to work hard and start gathering information.

COOKIE COOKIE COOKIE

My mom makes cookies all the time and since I am not home there is not anyone at my house who will eat them so when I get home there is always an overflow of cookies. All of my friends who have had her cookies fall in love with them after eating one. I always get cookies to take back with me which is awesome and I get to feel like it used to be. Usually if I bring them into my dorm they are devoured and do not last very long. If you want to try one just let me know!

SPONGEBOB!

I know it is a little kids show but for some reason it makes me laugh uncontrollably. The things that happen in the show never happen in real life and that is partly why it is so funny. After class there is nothing like relaxing and watching some mind-numbing spongebob to let it all go. Another reason is this is my first experience having cable and everyone else has had it all their childhood so I need to catch up with everybody and watch all the Spongebob I can!

FIRE DRILL

Today was the first fire drill I have been here for. I seriously thought that we were having a fire and I was worried about all of my stuff burning in a big fire and all my stuff being destroyed. This would greatly upset me and it would be terrible if that happened. I also am kind of happy that I haven't been here for a lot of them because what if I was doing something in my room that I couldn't stop or I was naked or something? That would definitely be bad but at least everyone is safe and that is all that matters!

COLTS ARE UNDEFEATED

WOOOOO!!! The Indianapolis Colts have not lost and that makes me very happy. I never would have expected them to have this much success this year with the loss of all their players and all the young players they have. Peyton Manning transformed them into amazing players. At the beginning of the season they predicted the Titans to win the division and they have not won a game yet this season. Colts are 6 games ahead of them and they are looking pretty good. They just need to improve their running game and their defense a little bit. Colts just need to keep on trucking and beast on some more teams.

Halloween

Halloween is a very fun time of the year and it is awesome to see all of the people dressed up. I don't know exactly what I am going to be but it should be awesome. I am trying to decide whether to go to IU or stay here but I am pretty sure I am going to stay here. Last year I was a banana and my friend was a gorilla and I know I was old but I went to a few houses to get candy and we would go up as a gorilla and a banana. I don't know what I am going to be this year but hopefully it is something good. IT has to live up to last year's costume.

FIFA SOCCER 2010

Fifa is the greatest game ever!! IT is so addicting and once you start playing it you can't stop. I got a lot of people on my floor playing it and now they can't stop. GO OUT AND PLAY

Camping!

Over Fall Break I am going camping with my roommate and a whole bunch of my friends that I used to go to school with and haven't seen in a while. We're going to stay in a cabin with a whole bunch of other families but we will have our own cabin to enjoy ourselves in. There will be a lot of different families that I don't really know but we will make sure that we have a good time. It is 2 weeeks away but I can't wait. I've been trying to go on this trip with them for a while so it's nice to finally be able to go with them. We don't have school on Friday so we are going to leave Thursday after our last class. It'll be a lot of fun!

It is important to have a good thesis because that is what makes a paper good and if you don't have a well prepared thesis it could ruin the intelligence of your paper and could take away from other parts of your paper. Even if you don't have much to write about, if you expand your thesis more it usually helps you write more.

COLD WEATHER

As you all know the weather has come very fast and I am not ready for it to be this cold yet. I prefer the warm weather very much over this weather we are having. It is also rainy out which doesn't make it any better. The only good thing about this weather is that its the time of my birthday. Everytime that I see pictures of the beach it makes me want to go there very badly. I think I am a beach bum so this weather upsets me. I can stand it though because I have lived in Indiana my whole life. When I do go to the beach I make sure to enjoy every minute of it and remember the feeling. When I am older I would love to live somewhere where I have close access to the beach, that is something that I would truly love. That is something that I can dream about. The cold weather will be gone soon enough...hopefully!

My favorite bandss

Music is a big part of my life and I listen to it all the time. I couldn't go a day without listening to it. When I was little I was a closet Backstreet Boys and Aaron Carter fan but those days are long over. My favorite band now would probably be Chevelle and Breaking Benjamin. Some other top bands that I listen to a lot are Hollywood Undead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, and there are many more bands that I love to listen to.I like alternative rock, classic rock, and some hardcore screamo rock. Music drives me to do things and I listen to some hardcore music before I play soccer and it gets me pumped and ready to kick some a$$. Music makes people do a lot of things and if it wasn't for music our world would not be what it is today.

MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!!!

My birthday is on Friday and I can't wait! I will be 19 years old and I am throwing a party at my friends house. It should be a good time and this is the first year that it will be on a Friday so I don't have to worry about school or anything else. I have never really had a birthday party, usually for my birthday it will just be my parents and my brothers and sisters. I have never had a party with just my friends so it will be a new experience for me. I probably wont get that many presents, but that doesn't really bother me. It'll be nice to just be with all my friends and have a good time and have no worries because I have not had a night like this in a long time. A lot of my friends from back in Indy are coming up to Muncie this weekend for my birthday so it will be nice to see them all again. It will be a night to remember and I can not wait!

my new house

Next year I am going to get a house with my roommate Kyle and another kid on my floor named AJ. Hopefully if we have enough room we can have a couple more of our buddies live in our house. Our friend AJ's parents said that they would buy a house here in Muncie for him to live in since he will be here for 6 years. After he is done with school his parents will rent out the house to other college students. The house we are looking at is basically on frat row because AJ is a member of Sigma Nu so he wanted something close. He also is going to bring his hot tub and his big 72 inch TV from home. Our house will definetely be a house where lots of fun times will take place. I hope I have my own room because I need my privacy after this year and always being with someone. Hopefully soon we will get our house because we will have more houses to look at if we look earlier and there will be more possibilities if we don't like the house that we have chosen.

ISHMAEL BEAH!

Ishmael Beah came to speak at Ball State and the turnout was a lot more than
I expected, I had to sit at the very top balcony. Everyone who I talked to seemed pretty excited about it though. When he walked out it kind of surprised me, I thought he would look different, although there were posters everywhere I pictured him differently. He had a very good personality, he was making jokes about everything and his experience. I didn't really expect him to be joking around but he was very lighthearted. It just made it that more enjoyable. He talked for about an hour and toward the end he said something that I thought was very deep and is something that should be told to people, he said "when you are asking for forgiveness you are not asking to give back what was taken, you are asking for a new chapter." This quote is something that is very intriguing to me and it is something that holds meaning in my life. When they opened up the floor for questions I expected questions like what was the hardest part and how did you recover from all that and do you have nightmares about what happened? Most of these were answered and when a girl asked for him to rap I got rather excited but he ended up not rapping. It was a very interesting to see him in real life and it was something that was very anticipated all over campus, and he didn't disappoint.

NFL Opening Night

The opening game to the NFL season just happened and it is a good start to a great season. The Steelers and the Titans played, the final score was 13 - 10 on a overtime field goal. It was an exciting game and it was nice for the preseason to finally be over. The Colts are still my favorite team, although they lost some players they are still going to be a pretty good time and they are going to have a touch division with the Titans. They have always been my favorite team and Reggie Wayne and Peyton Manning are some of my favorite players and they are an unbeatable duo. After Tony Dungy left they have a lot of rebuilding to do and this season will be a different season, they will still be very good but it won't be the same without Tony Dungys presence on and off the field. I have lived in Indy all of my life so I have been a Colts fan for a very long time. I can't wait for the season to get underway and it will be very exciting!

X - Fest

This weekend I am going to a concert back where I'm from in Indianapolis to attend a concert at Verizon Wireless Music Center. There are going to be 7 bands there, it is a alternative rock concert but when I mention to people they have no idea what I am talking about. The bands that are going to be there are Alice in Chains, Red, Hollywood Undead, Hurt, Cavo, Sick Puppies, and Cage the Elephant. These bands are all good and I listen to these bands a lot. I'm going with my friend Dan and some other friends from back in Indy. I have gone to this concert for the past 3 years and every year it is a different set of bands and they are all bands that are from x103 which is the radio station that plays all this type of music and they are the people that is putting on this show. Every year they hold this concert and it is always a good time when they do. I can't wait for this concert and it will be a night to remember!

Memoir Free write

There was a time not too long ago, the day before New Years in fact, that I did something that was very stupid and that I've come to regret. I so happened to be hanging out with my friends Justin, Nathan, Ryan, and Brad that day. We hadn't been doing much that day, we just were playing some catch, and we also played some Fifa Soccer for the Xbox, which I am not going to lie I am pretty good at. Bayern Munchen is my team and I always beat everyone when I am that team. Everyone gets mad at me because they are all sore losers. Only so many videogames can be played until you get bored though. We were playing for a while and it was getting late, around 10, and we decided to go drive around. Now around this time of the year people still had all their Christmas decorations up and other decorations for the holidays. Now being bored teenagers we decided that we were going to have some fun with all of these decorations. We went around a neighborhood and my friends would get out of the car and would knock peoples decorations over and would take the little orbs that people would have in their yard because they thought they were so cool. Now keep in mind this was a little car and I was sitting in the middle so I couldn't even get out. So I was not the one being the vandal. Brad and Ryan would get out and mess with peoples stuff and would occasionally make people's reindeer look like they were doing things that were innapropriate. I knew at the time that this whole thing wasn't very smart and I kept telling them. At one particular house a man was outside in his car and saw them get out and mess with someones yard, he immediately got out and followed us. Brad and Ryan ran so the only people in the car were the people that didn't do anything. Justin tried to make it on a main road before he could catch us but he called the police and they came before he could reach it. They made us get out of the car and put our hands up, it was probably one of the scariest moments that I have been through. Not to mention it was very cold. After everything was sorted out, they called our parents and we had to be picked up. I personally was not in trouble because I didn't do anything wrong. My parents were furious with me and I was definately in very big trouble, there went my new years! I will never allow myself to get in a situation like that again and I have learned a lot from this experience.

Man i love college, HEY!

I am glad to be in college, the transition to college life has been pretty painless and I am very excited to see how the year progresses. I was kind of afraid at first because I was unsure what to expect but I am pretty settled in and I am enjoying it. I never really have been on my own so it was kind of interesting to see how I would handle it. My brother is a senior here so I always have someone to ask for advice if I need it. He lives a short ways of campus so it is nice to just go over to his house if I get tired of the dorms. I also have many friends that attend Ball State so it just makes it that much easier. I like all of my classes and I am actually eager to learn, my senior year of high school was very laid back and relatively easy so this year will be different but I am ready to take on the challenge. My roommate is from the same high school from me so I have known him for a while and know what to expect from him. We get along well so I don't think that I will have a problem this year. I chose Ball State because I like the campus and I knew that it would be a good fit for me. I know the school pretty well because I would take trips up to Muncie, or "Funcie" as it is commonly known. I can't wait for this year and all the exciting things to come such as all the football games, meeting new people, and broadening my horizons and doing new things. I also look forward to playing soccer and staying in shape so I don't get the freshman 15. College is a place to do your own thing and grow and I am very ready for this.

SOCCER!!!

Soccer is one of the greatest and well known sports throughout the world. Not everyone understands it but it is a great sport to watch and play. I have been playing since i was in 6th grade unlike most people that start at a very young age. I believe that my drive to play has made me a lot better player. I made the team all 4 years of high school and if college soccer didnt have such a time commitment I might have tried out, I still want to be active and play soccer here at BSU so i am planning on playing intramurals and get some players together. It would be fun and a good way to meet new people and get involved in campus. Soccer will always be my passion and I enjoy playing it. Don't knock soccer until you try it!
